Adorable Tennley

One perk of being my relative is I LOVE taking pictures and sometimes I'll just call up somebody and ask if I can take some photos, for no other reason than I have an itch to take a picture. And I can only take so many of my own little people before they get annoyed with the camera.

So this week I got to take some pictures of my adorable 18 month old niece. I had grand schemes of her playing with an oversized Christmas ornament but she wanted nothing to do with it and in stead attached herself to these big flowers and my 6 year old's stuffed dog in an elf suit. It works.

So this is my intro. How you get to "meet" me. Unless of course you already know me, then you can just skip it :)

I never know what to write. It seems a bit pretentious to tell you how great I am or how awesome my photography is. On the flip side, self deprecation isn't my schtick nor does it go over well through a computer. So what can I tell you? Come in and work with me then you might be able to do this better than I can :)

Why do I do what I do? I love photography. For me it isn't just a job or even a career. It's my passion. I opened my own studio in 2007, but it was a hobby since grade school. I love photographing children and really catching their personality. They grow and change so fast, looking back on their lives through pictures is nostalgic and fun! I have 6 of my own so I completely understand the desire not to "miss" anything.

Capturing a moment and freezing it in time is a gift I love being able to give others. Images have the ability to evoke memories and long forgotten stories. They help link us to our past and can make us laugh, cry and smile. Whether professionally done or not pictures are important. But when it comes to those wall portraits there is nothing like a beautifully done professional work of art and I look forward to creating that art for you.

I want to give you memories a face.
